Nigerian Modernism (2026)
In 2026, Purple Velvet Press joined forces with The Tate Modern to attend a curator-led tour of the Nigerian Modernism exhibition. Visitors, notified by private whatsapp group, were invited to visit the tour led by lead curator Osei Bonsu.
We reached out to the Tate Modern for this opportunity, ensuring that a demographic sorely underserved by the arts world was able to attend this exhibition.
The Missing Thread (2024)
In 2024, Somerset House invited Purple Velvet Press to attend the Missing Thread exhibition.
The tour led by co-curator Harris Elliott, was an opportunity for Purple Velvet Press to attend its first exhibition as a group.
Flower Arrangement with Jen’s Plant and Florist
In 2023, Purple Velvet Press teamed up with Jen’s Florist and artist Peter Spanjer for a flower arrangement class.
The intimate class was punctuated by Spanjer’s unique video artworks, with a series of bouquet arrangement in between the viewings.
Weaving with Dahlia James (2024)
In 2024, The event was focused on weaving, with a class led by artist Dahlia James. The half day event saw a series of intricate weaving techniques taught by the artist.
